Obituary of Mina S. Fisher

Mrs. Mina Knobel Fisher, 95, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2004 at Devon Manor Devon, PA. She was born May 24, 1909 in Saquiot, NY, the daughter of Gabriel and Bertha Knobl. She was a 1933 graduate of Cortland Normal Teachers College, and was employed as a teacher in the Gloversville School District for over 27 years. Mina was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Gloversville and served on various committees. She was a resident of Gloversville for 71 years and wintered in Vero Beach, FL for the past 30 years. On July 19, 1935 she was married to Gerald S. Fisher who survives. Additional survivors include her son Richard S. Fisher of Berwyn, Pa; grandson Todd S. Fisher Stacey of Burlington, VT and granddaughter Elizabeth W. Mercatoris Michael of Aspen, CO and great granddaughter Madeline W. Mercatoris. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 9th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, with the Rev. David C. Newkirk officiating. Urn interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
