Donald R. Martish, age 71, of Gloversville, was taken home to be with his God on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Fulton Center, Gloversville.
He was born October 1, 1946 in Gloversville, the son of Robert and Margaret Mussey Martish. He served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1964 to 1967.
Don was employed as a precision grinder at General Electric Co. in Schenectady and also worked at KeyMark Corp; Fultonville.
He was a member Pine Tree Rifle Club, the NRA and Gloversville Moose Lodge. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, dancing, playing cards and riding his motorcycle.
Don is survived by his wife, Linda Rose Martish; six children, Christina Vinson (Kirby), Jennifer Perry, Jamie Martish (Keiko), John Grant (Tammy), Chris Grant and Denise Grant (Mike); 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Richard Martish (Penny), William Martish (Becca), Sue Riach (Joe), Becky Christman (John), Debbie McMillian (Jim), Robin Cross (Wayne) and Margaret Motyl; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; also two brothers, Robert and Everett Martish; and a nephew, Robbie Martish.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 6 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
Interment will take place at G.B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
