Obituary of Richard G. Rummler

Richard G. Rummler, age 75, of Gloversville, died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Mountain Valley Hospice House, Gloversville.

He was born January 15, 1943 in Gloversville, the son of Herbert and Vivian Eckelman Rummler. He served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965 and was later employed as a firefighter by Gloversville Fire Dept. for 32 years until his retirement in 1998.

Richard was a member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge. He loved hunting, fishing, playing pool and cards. He was a collector of figurines and plates and a huge knife collector. He dearly loved his family, especially his four grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Chris Rummler of Northville, Melissa and spouse Chris Jordan of Loganville, GA and Jessica Rummler of Atlanta, GA; his mother Vivian Rummler of Gloversville; four grandchildren, Megan Jordan, Isabel Jordan, Laci Rummler and Ryan Rummler; a brother, David Rummler; two sisters, Dawn Nilsen and Robin and spouse John Walrath; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his wife, Judith Phillips Rummler; his father, and a brother, Lyndon Rummler.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 25 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.

A Private Prayer Service will take place at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating.

Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
