Obituary of Charlotte Elliott

Charlotte "Marion" Elliott, age 86, of Mayfield, died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.

 

She was born March 25, 1932 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Leo and Frances Slimek Henry.

She has four siblings whom she loved very much. They are Eleanor Kennedy, Helen Perrone, Edward Henry and William Henry. She married her Husband Hugh Elliott on November 25, 1956.  They moved to Colchester Connecticut where they lived for ten years. She was employed by Pratt Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford Connecticut along with her husband. Family circumstances brought her back to Mayfield where she lived the rest of her life. She was employed by the Fulton County Infirmary and retired when she was 67 years old. She was a graduate from Fultonville High School class of 1950. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gloversville, and its Rosary Society.  She enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with her family. She loved living by the lake, boating and swimming with her daughter, son in law Doug and granddaughter Jessica Fox.

 

Her last nine years she most enjoyed the time she shared with her great Granddaughter Alyssa Wendel. They found much joy together coloring, baking and having tea parties. Her great Niece Dana Mosconi was also a very big part of the happy times she shared with Alyssa.

 

Marion is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Buyce (Doug) of Mayfield NY; two sisters, Helen Perrone of Gloversville and Eleanor Kennedy of Raleigh, North Carolina; two brothers, William Henry of Auburn, NY and Edward Henry of Gloversville, NY; a granddaughter, Jessica Fox (Michael) of Saratoga Springs, NY and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Madeline Wendel of Saratoga Springs, NY; along with many nieces and nephews who were all dearly loved.

 

She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh C. Elliott, and her parents.

 

A private graveside service will take place Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield, with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating.

 

A Celebration of Marion's Life will take place at a later date.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
