Obituary of Rochina L. Catello

Mrs. Rochina “Rocky” L. Catello, 83, of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018 surrounded by her family.  Born in Amsterdam on February 26, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Domenica Vidulich Colidapietro Sr.

A lifelong area resident, Rocky was employed at several companies including State Bank of Albany, Fiberglass Industries, Amsterdam Printing and Litho and lastly Mr. Discount.  Rocky was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.  She served as a Eucharistic Minister visiting the homebound.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On June 26, 1960 she was united in marriage to Alexander Catello.  That union lasted 31 years until his passing on July 22, 1991.  She was also predeceased by her siblings, Daniel, Joseph and Theresa.

Survivors include her children, Rocco Catello, Michael Catello (Deborah), Paula Natole (Michael), Alex Catello (Kimberly); grandchildren Michael, Michela, Amber, Antonio, Anthony, Julien, Gabriella, Kaitlyn and Shawn; nieces, nephews and cousins.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 9:15a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4 until 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
