Obituary of Gloria E. Frasier

Mrs. Gloria E. Frasier, age 73, passed away peacefully Monday evening, July 30th surrounded by her loving husband, sons, daughter and daughters in law. She was born in Watervliet, NY in 1944. She is the daughter of the late Henry & Elizabeth Valchovic Skadra. She was a graduate of Shaker High School. She worked in Retail, Customer Service, for over 35 years. She retired in 2012 from Walmart as the Customer Service Manager. Prior to Walmart, she was employed by Sears & Roebuck for many years as the Service Manager.

 

Gloria’s passion in life was her family and being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to them. She always had a smile on her face and was loved deeply. Her smile, love and support will be greatly missed. She enjoyed traveling with her husband on many cruises, visiting her daughter & son in law in Georgia where she spent the winter months, watching NASCAR and “Pulling the numbers” for the family pool. She also enjoyed trips to the Casino and sitting down to enjoy a good book. She was an avid “Elvis” fan and loved to collect Angels.

 

Gloria is survived by her loving Husband of 56 years, Ronald; 3 sons and a daughter; Ronald Jr. (Laura) of Malta, NY., Lisa Wright (Ken) of Kennesaw, GA., Timothy (KellyJo) of Gloversville and Rick of Gloversville, 3 brothers; Milton “Skip” Skadra (Marie) of Clifton Park, Chuck Skadra (Anita) of The Villages, FL., Henry Skadra (Linda) of Albany and a sister; Carol Penny (Guy) of Niskayuna.

 

Gloria was “The Coolest Grandma” to 7 wonderful grandchildren; Ronald Frasier III, Erika Bettit (TSGT Brent) TSGT Reid Frasier, Morgan Frasier, Brooke Kordyjak (Chris), Emily Frasier and Lance Frasier, with her first great-grandchild on the way; “CJ” Kordyjak in September of 2018, as well as several step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her Parents, Gloria was predeceased by her two brothers; Gordon and David as well as a sister; Helen Bott (Danny).

 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday, August 5th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am Monday August 6th, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery Johnstown.

 

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave Ext, Gloversville NY.
