Obituary of Joseph N. Pereicich

Joseph N. Pereicich, 90, of Amsterdam, N.Y. has gone to his eternal rest on Friday, August, 17th, 2018.

Born on December 8th, 1927, in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Antoinette Vidulicuch- Pereicich. Joseph was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. He bravely enlisted in the United States Army in 1945. On January 30th, 1949 he was united in marriage to Ruth Groff. It was a strong union that lasted 69 years until his passing. Joseph was a former member of the Bigelow Weavers Club which is located on Brookside Avenue in Amsterdam. Joseph enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid fan of the Saratoga Race Track. He enjoyed spending time at OTB. During the holidays, he loved baking goodies and delivering them to his family. Joseph was a caring, wonderful, and devoted husband. He was genuinely loved by everyone and made friends everywhere he went. His legacy will leave a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Ruth Pereicich; his son William (Constance) Pereicich Sr.; his grandchildren, Jessica (Anthony) D’Ambrosio, William (Angela) Pereicich Jr.; his step grandchildren, Jeffrey (Margaret) Bagdon, Tracy Bagdon, and Christopher Bagdon; his great grandchildren, Giana, Joey, Rocco, and Nancy D’Ambrosio, Willie Rosado, Isaiah, Elijiah, and Mathias Pereicich; his step great grandchildren, Jay, Shawn, Taylor, Sage, and Avia Bagdon; and his sisters, Virginia VanAvery, and Dolores Pereicich. Many more loving close family and friends also survive. Joseph is predeceased by his parents; his son Joseph Pereicich; his sisters, Nettie Pereicich, Mary Iannotti, and Anne Smith; and his brothers, Nicholas, Edward, and John Pereicich.

A Graveside Service will take place at 11am on Wednesday, August, 22nd, 2018 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Main St., Fort Johnson, N.Y. with Rev. Pascal Iannotti officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, N.Y. In lieu of flowers a Memorial contribution may be made to Community Hospice, 246 Manny Corners Rd, Amsterdam, and N.Y. 12010.
