Obituary of Alan Brown

Mr. Alan Brown, 70, of Smith Street, Canajoharie, NY died peacefully on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 following a brief illness.  Born on November 29, 1947 he was the son of Melvin Brown and the late Donna Anthony Brown.

A lifelong area resident, Alan attended local schools.  Alan worked hard all of his life and owned and operated several businesses including: Al’s TV and Appliances, and Rebuild Enterprises LLP.  He was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Shriner’s and the F&AM. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, a good joke and his beloved dogs.  Alan was also a little league baseball coach from 1976- 1981.  Above all, he loved being a Husband and Dad to his girls.  He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marcia Shults Brown; his dad, Melvin Brown of Port St. Lucie, FL; his three beloved daughters, Tiffannie (Jeremy) Berger of Johnstown, NY, Michelle (Paul) Massocco of Fort Pierce, FL, and Allyn “AJ” (Lester) Fort of Palatine Bridge, NY;  one brother, Larry Brown of Sebastian, FL; two sisters, Kathy Gregg of Wauchula, FL and Carol Brown of West Palm Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Giovante D’Antonino, Anthony D’Antonino, Gabrielle (Matt) Wandel, Tyler Massocco, Brody Massocco, and Morgan Fort; two great grandchildren, Wyatt Snell and Kase Massocco; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mom, Donna; and two grandchildren, Jared Massocco and Haden Fort.

A Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 7p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY.  Calling hours will be held prior to the ceremony beginning at 4pm.
