Obituary of Dorothy A. Adamkoski

Mrs. Dorothy A.  Adamkoski, 88, of Amsterdam , passed away December 8, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

She was born May 12, 1930 in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Paul and Agnes (Wicenciuk) Dingo. She was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1947. Dorothy was first later employed as an Aide by The Attorney General Office of New York State Division of Consumer Fraud in Albany until she retired in 1985. Dorothy was a parishioner of St. May's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her camp on the Sacandaga Lake. For many years Dorothy bowled at the Skyview Lanes. She loved traveling with her husband and playing poker at family gatherings.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Paula Jean Szala.

On January 13, 1952 she married John F. Adamkoski who passed away May 20, 2014. Survivors include her son, Robert Adamkoski of Amsterdam; four grandchildren, Robert Adamkoski, Brian Adamkoski, Rebecca Reed and Jacquelyn (Anthony)Marelli,  a son in law Tim Szala; four great grandchildren, Schuyler Smith, Oliva Adamkoski, Alyessa Reed, and Gemma Adamkoski; several cousins.

Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, from 10 am to 12 noon on Thursday  December  13, 2018.  A Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home with Fr. Jeffrey M. L’Arche officiating,  Interment will take place in the family plot next to her late husband in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam.
