Obituary of Alice C. DeVoe

Ms. Alice C. DeVoe, age 86, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully April 20, 2019 at her home in Gloversville surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born September 25th, 1932 in Mayfield, the daughter of the late Stanley Sr. and Adah Vincent DeVoe. She was later employed by various local companies including Grandoe Leather, St. Thomas Leather, Decca Records and the Lexington Center. Alice was a member of the Mayfield United Methodist Church, the Gloversville Moose Club, very active in both the Gloversville and Johnstown Senior Citizen Centers. She will be fondly remembered for her love of crocheting, especially afghans.

 

Alice is survived by a sister Ruth Baker (Raymond) of Fonda, a brother Ralph J. DeVoe (Mary Jane) of Clearwater, FL., her two sisters in law Betty DeVoe and Claudia DeVoe, a special niece Donna DeVoe along with many extended family members and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by a sister Margie Brown (George), her brothers Vincent DeVoe, Charles DeVoe (Vivian), Keith DeVoe (Marilyn), Stanley B. DeVoe Jr.

 

In keeping with Alice’s wishes, there will be no formal calling hours or funeral services at this time. There will be a celebration of life for the family, at a later time to be announced.

 

Cremation took place at Park View Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Mountain Valley Hospice House, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078 or the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln, Latham, NY 12110.
