Obituary of Marlene Sue Chichester

Mrs. Marlene Sue Chichester, age 88, of Gloversville, passed away Monday July 1, 2019 at Baptist Health Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, Scotia with her loving family by her side.

 

She was born April 12, 1931 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Edwin and Ethel McQuade. She was employed as an Inspector at MCA Records of Gloversville. She was an avid NY Yankees Fan; she enjoyed cards and playing bingo with her family and senior friends at her home of Petoff Gardens, along with enjoying embroidery and crocheting in her free time. Marlene was known for enjoying the beauty of flowers along with birds that would pass by her bedroom window. Some of her favorite times of the day were when her soap operas and Jeopardy would be on television.

Marlene was a very social person, being well known for always having a big smile on her face. She enjoyed her outing with her family, especially her grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren.

Marlene was a former member of North Main United Methodist Church, being a part of the churches choir.

Marlene is survived by her seven children; Carlene Dorman, Donald Chichester (Stacie), Carl III Chichester (Chris), Cathy A. Nicosia (Michael), Laurie Fallis, Paul Chichester, Kevin Chichester, her ten grandchildren; Michael Dorman (Jacey), Candi Baumes, Madonna Chichester, Lisa Chichester, Shane Chichester, Serena Chichester, Riley Simonds, Joseph Simonds(Natasha),  Tyler Fallis, and Kyle Fallis (Angela), 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren along with several extended family members and friends.

 

Along with both of her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Edwin McQuade and a granddaughter Stacie Dorman.

 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, Friday July 5, 2019 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville where a Funeral Service immediately will follow at 1:00PM with the Rev. Joyce Royal officiating.

 

Being a longtime donor to both the Boys Club of America and St. Jude's Children Hospital, Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either charity in her name.
