Obituary of Lucy E. Ostrander

Mrs. Lucy Esther Hogan Ostrander,  age 87 , of Gloversville, passed on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Gloversville, NY.

She was born April 27, 1932 in Rotterdam Junction, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Lena Mae Rector Hogan. She was employed as a sewer by various glove shops in the area including the former Johnstown Knitting Mill.  She was a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.

Lucy is survived by a son, Don Ostrander of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren,  Tanya  Kent of Destin, FL, , Brian  Ostrander of Layton, UT and Benjamin  Ostrander of Colorado Springs, CO;  two great-grandchildren, Abrielle  Kent and Kyalie  Duerr; and a sister, Frances  Lyons of Johnstown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis  Boyd; a brother, Charles  Hogan; and a sister, Helen Jerzykiewcz.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11am Saturday,  August 10, 2019 at Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 11am with the Rev. Moon Ho Kim and the Rev. Cynthia VanAllen Officiating.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made in lieu of flowers to the Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
