Obituary of Shannon D'Addio

            Shannon D’Addio, 33, of Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 6, 2019 at her home.

     She was born in Schenectady, NY at St. Clare’s Hospital on January 2, 1986.  She is the daughter of David D'Addio and Sheila Orapello Collins.

    For the last several years she has resided in Virginia.   She had a passion for hairdressing and loved to make people happy and feel better about themselves.  Her friends meant the world to her and she always wanted them to be happy.  She loved being around her family and her friends.

     Survivors include the light of her life and reason for living, Caliana Mae Brunner of Virginia.  Her loving mother, Sheila Orapello Collins and step-father, Paul Collins of Virginia.   Her beloved sister, Michelle D’Addio and cherished nieces, Amya, Mariyah D’Addio-Brown all of Virginia.   Several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly also survive. 

   Shannon was predeceased by her loving father, David D’Addio in July of 2008.  She is also predeceased by her aunt, Sandra D’Addio, her paternal grandparents, Anthony and Nancy DiCaprio D’Addio and maternal grandparents,  Barbara and Joseph Orapello. 

    Shannon’s family would like to express to all that the Opioid Drug Crisis in our country is real.  Please listen to your loved ones so that this doesn’t happen to them.  Don’t ignore the symptoms and the signs.  Get them help and intervene whenever possible.  Don’t let Shannon’s passing be in vain. She loved you all!

     A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 13, 2019 at 10:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY.  Interment of Cremated Remains will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. There are no calling hours.
