Obituary of Alan J. Knoblauch

Mr. Alan J. Knoblauch, 62, of the Town of Palatine, died peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2019 following a brief illness.  Born on November 7, 1956 he was the son of Emma Marie Spoar and the late Wellington E. Knoblauch.

A lifelong area resident, Alan attended Fort Plain schools and went on to FMCC where he graduated with a degree in culinary arts. He was employed as a chef for NYS Corrections until his recent retirement.  He was a member of the Canajoharie Moose Lodge, NRA and served with the Ephratah Volunteer Fire Department.  Alan was also a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gloversville.

Survivors include mother, Emma Knoblauch; his siblings, John Knoblauch of Parker, CO and Robin Knoblauch of Broadalbin, NY; step-siblings, Carol Coso of Ephratah, NY and Fay Flanders and her husband John of Ephratah, NY; nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his father and a step brother, Everett Knoblauch.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 12p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 417 Steel Avenue Extension, Gloversville, NY 12078.  The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service beginning at 11a.m. at the church.  Burial will take place in the Ephratah Cemetery.
