Obituary of Jacinto Melendez-Baez

Mr. Jacinto Melendez-Baez, age 84, of Amsterdam, passed away from a brief illness on Saturday December 14, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 11, 1935 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the son of the late Juan Melendez and Altagracia Baez. He was an avid fan of baseball and his favorite team was the NY Mets.

Jacinto is survived by his sons Ramon, Eddy, Marichal, Roberto and daughters Anita, Nancy, Susana, along with many grandchildren. Jacinto is also survived by his beloved sister Calin in Santo Domingo, along with his beloved daughter in laws Linda, Maria, Lourdes and Michelle and the mothers of his children Candida Hiciano and Brunilda Martinez.  

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00am to 12:00pm, Tuesday December 17, 2019 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville, NY 12078 where a Funeral Service will follow at 12:00pm at the funeral home, with his grandson Eddy officiating.

Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service at Saint Michael's Cemetery, Cemetery Rd. Amsterdam NY, 12010.
