Mrs. Philomena Carbano

March 21, 1920 - January 17, 2020

Philomena "Phil" Carbano, age 99, formerly of Gloversville passed away January 17, 2020 at Wells Nursing home, Johnstown. Philomena was predeceased by her husband William Carbano. Whom she married in 1955 and died in 1993. She was also predeceased by her daughter Ellen Carbano "Wilson" whom passed away June 17, 2005. Phil was also predeceased by a brother Charles Joseph Colella Jr, and sister Margaret Brewer.

Mrs. Carbano is survived by her 4 grandchildren, Tersea and Tonya Wilson, Jackie and Valerie Holmes. Phil also leaves behind 17 great grandchildren, Jay Wilson, Robert Filkins, Amber Curry, Caitlynn Hamm, Dakota, Britany, Jacob, and Hunter Baker, Madisyn and Garriet Fischer, Trinity and William Jr. Walendziak, Kristan Telfer, Angela Rector, Cheyanne Pikenton, Jennifer Boyer, and Samantha Wade. Phil is also survived by several great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Carbano retired at the age of 60, after working at several defunct companies such as Continental mills and coleco Industries. Phil was a dedicated member of the VFW Legion, Purple Hats Association, Moose club, and Gloversville Senior Center. She enjoyed spending her time playing bingo and being with her cats!!! Philomena was always bringing a smile to everyone’s face. Phil also enjoyed riding the city bus with friends, simply just to talk about the memories they all share throughout the city.

Philomena will always be remembered for her spunk, humor and "zest for life" by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. In her memory, we ask only that all of us practice in our daily lives an act of kindness every day and say thank you.

A graveside service will take place in the spring at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
