Obituary of Pearl Simeone

Mrs. Pearl Simeone, 100 years old, formerly of Midline Road, Amsterdam, passed away Saturday, 2/22, at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility, surrounded by family.

Mrs. Simeone was born in Pattersonville, New York on June 12, 1919, a daughter of the late Anthony and Vicenzina (Vida) Martello Coppola.  She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam.
She was employed by the former Colette Manufacturing Co. and the former Mohawk Carpet Mills. She also worked at Coleco and Ward Products.

She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.She married the late Alfred Simeone Sr. on September 15, 1940.  They were together until his passing in Amsterdam on September 3, 2006.

She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and welcomed everyone with open arms.  She was well-known for her kind heart and upbeat personality.  She always made others feel special and truly loved everyone unconditionally.  She took great pride in being an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a true blessing - beautiful beyond words.

Survivors include her two sons, Dominick (Joan) Simeone and Alfred (Robin) Simeone, Jr., both of Amsterdam; her two daughters, Rose (Frank) Mazurkiewicz of Avon, New York and Pearl (Ronald) Salonen of Holly, New York; 15 grandchildren and their spouses; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.  She is predeceased by two brothers and three sisters (respectively): Robert Coppola, Frank Coppola, Mary Hage, Norma Rusnica, and Vivian Coppola.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 10a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.  Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 4 until 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home.
