Obituary of Marjorie E. Dorman

Mrs. Marjorie “Marge” E. Dorman, age 73, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26th, 2020.

She was born, January 19th, 1947 in Gloversville, is the daughter of the late Arnold Edwards and Doris Cosselman Wood. She attended school in Gloversville and was a homemaker for many years.

After her children were grown, she went to work as a teacher’s aide at Park Terrace Elementary School, Gloversville. She also worked at Mohawk-Finishing Products, Amsterdam. Her work would end where she started as a devoted wife, mother, and later a grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends no matter where it was, together they would enjoy a hot coffee or cold beer, while playing pull tabs or singing karaoke. But if you came to her home for a visit, one thing is for sure, there was always a hot pot of coffee on. She loved country music and dancing, which comes from years of seeing her brother Larry’s band perform.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of 57 years Richard E Dorman; their four children Richard (Dickie) Dorman Jr. (Maureen), Robin Coon (Darrell), Deborah Jo Dorman (Carl) and Joseph Dorman (JoAnn); three brothers, Larry (Linda), Michael (with whom she had a very special bond with) (Toni) and Victor Edwards; two sisters, Linda Wood and Victoria Edwards; three grandsons, Bret (Sonia) Kyle (Nina) and Joseph Dorman Jr ; five great-grandchildren, Riley, Jesse, Reagan, Aurora and Chase Dorman; along with several other extended family members such as nieces, nephews and cousins, she will leave behind her beloved dog “MUGSY”

In addition to both of her parents, Marge was predeceased by her stepfather Harvey Wood, and a sister Joanne Wood.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services, but there will be a Celebration of Life, the date and place to be announced.

Cremation will take place at Parkview Cemetery Crematorium.
