Obituary of Nancy Ann Costello

Nancy Ann Costello of Johnstown NY passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at The Wells House Nursing Home in Johnstown NY. She was born on December 10, 1941 in Ames NY, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Clouthier. In addition to her parents Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Frank Costello.

Survivors include her two sons; Michael (Julia) Costello of Orange Park Florida and Daniel (Jaime) Costello of Caroga Lake NY; sisters Marie Mowrey of Canajoharie NY, Janet Waner of Palatine Bridge NY and Diane Klump of South Carolina; brothers Eugene Clouthier of Long Island, Richard Clouthier, Robert Clouthier of St Johnsville NY and Oscar Clouthier of Fonda NY. Nancy’s most prized possessions were her grandchildren, Stephanie, Tessa, Gregory, Olen and Elliot; and her four great grandchildren Kylie, Landon, Natalie and Chandler who she adored and loved spending time with.

Nancy graduated from Canajoharie Central School in 1959 and excelled in sports, she was an avid sports fan and supported Canajoharie football and wrestling for years. Nancy was also a huge baseball fan and enjoyed watching the New York Yankees. She was a restauranteur in the southern Adirondacks for years. She operated the Pleasant Lake Inn with May Lettis and operate The Laker in Caroga Lake with her son Daniel. She enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the Adirondacks.

A private Service of Remembrance will take place on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 12:00pm at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Public calling hours will take place. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Lenz and Betz Funeral Home prior to the service. Please note that face masks must be worn inside the funeral home, as well as maintaining social distancing during the calling hours. Interment will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery following the service.
