Obituary of Paul Nicosia

Paul Nicosia, 89, of Amsterdam passed away on July 5, 2020 with his loving family by his side. Born in Gloversville on December 18, 1930 he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Genevieve (Argento) Nicosia.

Survived by his daughters Frances (Anthony Green) Schnurr of Amsterdam, and Cathy (Bobby) Murphy of Florida.  Two sons Philip (Margaret) Canzano of Pennsylvania, and William Canzano of Texas. His brother James (Elaine) Nicosia of Amsterdam, sister Susan (Henry) Buanno of Connecticut, also by 8 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, and by many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parent and his late wife Maryann (Leffler) Nicosia who passed away March 26, 2018. He is predeceased by brothers Sam Nicosia, Anthony Nicosia, John Nicosia, Peter Nicosia, and Joseph Nicosia, and by his sisters Mary Mascardi, Madeline Meinecke, Josephine Pecorino, and Frances Carr.

During his lifetime Paul was born and raised in Gloversville, he proudly served his country in the United State Navy.  He was a computer engineer for Sperry Univac in Manhattan, and later worked for Northrop Grumman in New York. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family; he also loved playing pool especially with his league at Schotts Tavern. 

A memorial service will take place at a later date, and will be announced.
