Obituary of Annie R. Mancini

Mrs. Annie R. Mancini,  age 91, of Gloversville, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility, Amsterdam.

She was born October 28, 1928 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Thomas and Philomena Ruggiero. She was employed as a glove maker by C.J. Bachner Gloves for many years until 1990 when she retired to take care of her husband, Ferdinand, whom she married in 1950. They shared over 41 years together until his death in 1992. 

Annie was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit where she was a former Bingo worker and Pizza maker for festivals and Lenten dinners. She also was a former member of the Nite-Out Bowling League and a volunteer at the Kingsboro School Cafeteria .  She enjoyed baking and cooking, especially for holiday meals with her family. 

Survivors include three children, Thomas Mancini,  Richard Mancini (Pat) and Maria Dolder (Rick), all of Gloversville; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, David E. Mancini; all twelve of her brothers and sisters, Thomas, John, Luigi, Peter, Pasquale, Frank, Louis and Carmen Ruggiero; Josephine Ruggiero, Jennie Hunter, Maria Josephine Wheeler and Ruth Medoff.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 am to 12 noon on Thursday, September 10, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St., Gloversville,  where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.  Facial covering, social distancing and all Covid-19 Restrictions will be required.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. 

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Mount Carmel Cemetery, c/o Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main St. Gloversville, NY 12078.
