Obituary of Carol A. Schuyler

Mrs. Carol A. Schuyler, 85, of the Town of Florida, New York, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 10, 1935 to Harold and Anna (Kaiser) Winfield in Schenectady, Carol attended Draper High School, graduating with the class of 1953.

After graduating from high school, Carol worked at the Army Depot in Rotterdam. In 1957 Carol was united in marriage to Edmund K. Schuyler, and the couple moved to the Town of Florida. The following year, she began her career as a mother with the birth of her first of five children. In 1971, Carol and Edmund began their venture into the horticultural business with Carol’s Wholesale Flowers. She was the primary delivery person for the business, which she greatly enjoyed since it gave her the chance to meet and keep in touch with various florists throughout the years.

Carol was a social butterfly, and rarely spent time home alone. She frequently dined out for breakfast at the local eateries, and kept in touch with her friends from high school, meeting with them monthly for as long as she could. Carol was also an active communicant of Perth Bible Church for many years.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edmund in 1997. She is also predeceased by her parents, Harold and Anna, as well as by her sister, Arlene (Herb) Sharp.

Carol’s loving family includes her children, Edmund G. Schuyler, Cynthia M. Schuyler, Mary-Ellen (Lee) Isakson, Carolyn A. Schuyler, and Amy S. (John) Morrill; her grandchildren, Stephanie Maynard, Aaron Bodain, Hayden Morrill, and Christopher Isakson; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald (Kate) Winfield, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service of remembrance will be held for Carol at a later date, to be announced. Burial services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family, at Chuctanunda Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s memory to Montgomery County SPCA, P.O. Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010, or online at https://www.mc-spca.com/wp/?page_id=890
