Obituary of Ronald F. Snell

Ronald F. Snell, 71, of Tribes Hill, New York entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Born in Little Falls on November 17, 1949, he is the son of the late Harold F. and Betty (Titchard) Snell.

Ron is survived by his wife and companion of 50 years, Linda. He is also survived by his son, Ronald E. Snell (Dorine) of Fort Hunter, his daughter Victoria Wigginton (Bryan) of Tribes Hill. His Granddaughter Kimberlee Snell of Fort Hunter, his grandsons John-Douglas (Johnny D) and Ptolemy Fox of Tribes Hill, and granddaughter Kaitlyn Wigginton of Tribes Hill.

He is predeceased by his mother Betty Snell, and father Harold F. Snell, as well as his sister Cathy Snell.

Ron was a retired locomotive engineer and worked many years for the railroad. He retired from Amtrak several years ago and continued to have fond memories of his time. He enjoyed talking about the railroad with his railroad friends, particularly Ray, Tommy and Louie.

He had a love for old cars, wood working, and fishing. He enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Cossayuna Lake, as well as going to the ocean and watching whales. He also loved spending time with his pets, especially his cat Snow-Ball.

Calling hours will be private, and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the springtime in the family plot of the St. Johnsville Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
