Robin Batease

Obituary of Robin Vivian Batease

Robin Vivian (Hunt) Batease went to Heaven on April 6, 2021, after a courageous 16 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, with her family surrounding her with love.

Robin would want her loving sister-in-law (Petunia) Susan, Bertha (her niece), and aide Jenn to know how thankful she was to have them.

Robin was born on April 11, 1962 in Norwich, NY and moved to Amsterdam as a young girl. She attended the Greater Amsterdam School District, and while in school she met the love of her life at the age of 15.

She and John married on May 19, 1979 at the First Baptist Church in Amsterdam. She was 17, and he was 19.

The day after they married, they flew to Germany so that John could finish his term in the military.

While John was overseas with Robin they traveled extensively, seeing such beautiful things – it made them so humble together. There they were just starting their journey together.

Upon returning to the US they gave their life to their new family they started. Robin’s pride and joy was her children. That’s where she shined. She was phenomenal. Her heart was made of gold. Irreplaceable. She was someone to aspire to be. After her children were old enough, she went back to work.

She worked as a seamstress. She was talented, just as her mother was. She was an artist when it came to drawing and painting.

Her next adventure begand when her first grandchild was born. Shortly after that, she became sick. That didn’t stop her. When she lost her ability to walk, and the movement of her hands, that never held her back. She was the strongest person on the planet.

Robin is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, John W. Batease II of Amsterdam. Her loving son John W. Batease III (Annette) of Scotia, and loving daughter Shannon Marie Batease-Reksc (Donald) of Hagaman.

Survived also by her apples of her eye – her grandchildren whom she adored: Taylor Caryn Brickwedel, Ryan William Brickwedel, Hunter Michael Reksc, John Wallace Batease IV, and Scarlett Rose Batease.

Robin is also survived by her siblings Edward Hunt (Roseanne) of Oneonta, Francis Hunt of Amsterdam, Alice Thomas of Cortland, Sandra Kraft (Thomas) of Cortland, and Julie Cotton (Fred) of Jefferson, NY.

She is predeceased by her brother, Benjamin Hunt (a veteran), and her 4 premature children that helped guide her to heaven.

Close family and friends will gather at her residence on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2PM to celebrate her life.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Online condolences may be made at www.brbsfuneral.com.
