Obituary of Daniel Michael Snyder

Daniel Michael Snyder, age 57, of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday May 22, 2021 at his home in Gloversville. Dan had been having a tug of war with a tumor and unfortunately the tumor tugged a little too hard and he lost the war. Unfortunately, it was a war he could never win. He gave it his all and wrestled with it for a short time and in the end had to let go. you are now fee of your struggle. An angel won his wings today. Go fly free and enjoy your next adventure.

He was born May 8, 1964 in Gloversville, the son of the late Fredric and Gloria DiMezza Snyder. Daniel was a 1982 graduate of Gloversville High School. He was employed as a Correctional Officer and Firearms Instructor for 21 years at the Fulton County Jail, until his retirement in 2016 due to illness.

He was a longtime member of the Pine Tree Riffle Club. He enjoyed this club immensely. There was no target he could not get with too much trouble. He was known to all his friends as a fun loving kind of guy. He was a kind, gentle teddy bear to his family and close friends. He enjoyed target practice, motorcycling, traveling and he loved the fireworks at Disney's Epcot Center. Dan loved Disney World, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay and sitting on the balcony listening to the dolphins playing in the gulf. When in Vegas, he enjoyed meeting Pete Rose and Siegfried. He enjoyed Las Vegas and all the quirkiness of the streets, people and casinos. He had a great time people watching and egging his wife on in gambling. He loved going to the ocean in New Jersey. Loved the boardwalk in Seaside Heights and loved the Berkeley Candy Taffy. He loved to sit on the boardwalk and watch the world go by. Per his wife's gambling he ended up falling in love with Atlantic City and the casinos. He loved to sit out on the balconies and watch the lights, people and the ocean while his wife gambled. He always helper her spend her winnings on more fun activities. He loved to do impromptu adventures while on vacation. He loved the sea, sea animals and long adventurous road trips. He also loved doing ghost hunts. Dan always made life interesting for those around him. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Daniel is survived by his wife Tammy, who he married in 2009 by Elvis in Las Vegas, Nevada; his two brothers, Fred (Colleen) and Mark (Holly) Snyder; nieces, Caitlin, Megan and Kendra; a nephew, Duke; a great niece, Scarlett; along with several cousins and extended family members.

Keeping with Dan's wishes, there will be no formal calling hours or funeral services at this time. Cremation took place at Park View Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Pine Tree Riffle Club.
