Obituary of John E. Tarka

      Mr. John E. Tarka, 71, of Amsterdam, entered into eternal rest,  into the loving arms of his son Tommy with his loving wife Lorraine at his side on Saturday June 12, 2021, following a long illness.

     Born on September 13, 1949 in Schenectady, NY a son of the late Edmund and Catherine Tallman Tarka. 

        He was a resident of the Schenectady area graduating from the former Linton High School in Schenectady class of 1968.  He was employed for General Electric.  He later was employed as a mason for the Wade Lupe Construction Co. in Schenectady.  He also worked at the former Coleco Industries in Amsterdam and was a Truck Driver for the Coyne Textiles Co. in Schenectady retiring in 1992. 

         He was a member of the IUE-CWA Local #301 and the Teamsters Local 294 in Albany. NY. 

     John enjoyed bowling for a time for the Hagman Merchants and played recreation softball in Amsterdam.  He loved going to Casinos with his wife Lorraine and also enjoyed fishing.   Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.   

        He married Lorraine A. DeNoyell Tarka on November 5, 1983.  In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Joseph DeNoyell of Lake Luzern, NY.   Three grandchildren, Joseph DeNoyell, Jr., and  twins, Joshua and Justin DeNoyell.   Sister and Brother-in-laws, Michael and Mary Izzano.   Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.  He was predeceased by his beloved son, Thomas J. "Tommy" Tarka who passed away on April 23, 2017. 

       At John's request there are no calling hours or funeral services.  Burial will be private in Hagaman Mills Cemetery, Hagaman, NY.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.  Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence Street,  Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866 Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
