Obituary of Bruce J. Blender

Mr. Bruce J. Blender, 72, of Sprakers passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam. He was born on May 14, 1949 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blender of Rochester. He was united in marriage to Miss Brenda Douglass in May of 1976.

Bruce enjoyed his work as a Blow Mold Specialist and traveled nationally and internationally to practice his craft. He loved making model airplanes, working with his hands, fishing, and being outdoors. After retirement Bruce and his wife Brenda worked their hobby farm, where they cared for their honey bees, beef cows, chickens and one turkey. He loved farming and selling his produce at the Canajoharie Farmers Market every Sunday.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Brenda Douglass Blender, his son Jamison (Beverly Osborne) Blender, and granddaughter Caitlin Blender as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Frank Blender and Kay Donovan, as well as his daughter Melissa Blender.

Calling hours will take place at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. A celebration of Bruce’s life will take place at a later date.
