Obituary of Dominic A. Anadio, Jr.

Dominic A. "Doc" Anadio, Jr; age 74, of Gloversville, died July 15, 2021 at his residence.

He was born September 27, 1946 in Gloversville, the son of the late Dominic Sr. and Antoinette Torino Anadio. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was later employed in family businesses and became a co-owner of D. Anadio and Son Produce on March 2, 1972, which was operated for many years. He was also owner of Doc's Remedy on Bleecker Street for the past 17 years until the recent pandemic. He was a member of Hails Mills Golf Club, West River Hunting Club Lifetime Member, the Gloversville Catholic War Veterans, Bleecker Fish and Game Club and the former Pine Brook Golf Club.

Doc is survived by his fiance', Merilynda Olmstead; two sons, Dominic "Nic" Anadio III (Nicole) and Douglas Anadio and their mother, Patricia Perkov Wetmore; two brothers, Michael A. Anadio and Ralph Anadio (Ellen), a grandson, Dominic A. Anadio IV; two step-children, Howard Olmstead (Nikki) and Joseph Olmstead; four step-grandchildren, Callie Rix, Brody Rix, Gavin Thompson and Giada Olmstead; a niece, Andrea Anadio and a nephew, Daniel Anadio and his fiance Carly. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and in-laws in the DeSantis and Garguilo families and life-long friend Albie Dicruttalo.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville, with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
