Michele Iorio

Obituary of Michele L. Iorio

Michele Lynn Iorio, 66, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on September 2, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband of 44 years and her sons.  She passed after an extended illness.  Michele was a 1973 graduate of Gloversville High School and a lifelong resident of Gloversville.

Michele was first and foremost, a devoted and loving wife to her husband Ralph, mother to her five sons, and grandmother to her ten grandchildren.  She was a fixture at all of her son’s football games, musical endeavors, and any activity they were involved in.  She continued this enthusiasm with her grandchildren, whom she adored, by being constantly “on the go” to make every event they were involved in.  She also assisted her husband in running the family business, Ralph’s Tailor Shop, for many years.

In addition to her love of children and grandchildren, she treasured her relationship with her husband Ralph.  Their love spans over 50 years and were virtually inseparable during that time. They enjoyed many travels over the years including trips to Italy, Las Vegas, Memphis and Branson, Cape Cod, Walt Disney World as well as her children and grandchildren’s band concerts, dance recitals, and athletic games.

Michele constantly surrounded herself with the love and company of family and friends and was often the planner and coordinator of all family parties and events.  She enjoyed family card and game nights and was famous for her legendary pizza nights.

Michele is survived by her husband, Ralph, of Gloversville; children Raffaele (Kristina) Iorio of Gansevoort, Michael (Loren) Iorio of Gloversville, Marc (Jessica) Iorio of East Greenbush, Anthony (Nora) Iorio of Chevy Chase, Md. and Armando Iorio of Gloversville; grandchildren Lucas, Matthew, Isabella, Mia, Juliana, Madeleine, Avery, Clara, Molly, and Quinnly; brothers Robert, Gregory, Peter and Eric Patterson; sister Darla Rowley; as well as many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents Robert (“Red”) and Dora Patterson; sisters Dr. Dawn Marie Patterson, Deborah (Dick) Baird, Stephanie DelSignore, and sister-in-law Gail Patterson.

The family would like to thank all of the health care professionals that helped care for Michele over the years.
