Obituary of Roger W. Minch, Jr.

      Roger W. Minch Jr., 78, of Troy, formerly of Amsterdam, NY, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2021 at his home.

    He was born on May 6, 1943 a son of the late Rowena Stewart Minch and Roger W. Minch Sr.  He was a 1961 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. 

   Roger was employed for many years by the State of NY in Albany.   He served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged.    He was a member of the St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam and formerly of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.   He was very involved over the years with the Boy Scouts of America donating and volunteering his time. Roger also was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons in Troy, NY.   The Shriners and the Scottish Rite of the Free and Accepted Masons.    

    He is survived by his brother,   James (Debbie) Minch of Amsterdam.  Nieces, Kimberly Minch and Jennifer (Chris) Sawicki  and Kristen P. Minch and Eric Minch.   Cousins also survive.   Roger  was predeceased also by a brother earlier this year, Stuart Minch and a sister as an infant .    

        A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery, Steadwell Ave in Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. John A.
