Obituary of Beverly J. Cotton

Mrs. Beverly J. Cotton, 87, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Born in the Town of Palatine on February 2, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lottie Nealy Leavenworth Kretser.

 

A lifelong area resident, Beverly attended local schools.  She was a hard worker all of her life and enjoyed being with her family.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge, The Ephratah Rod & Gun Club and the Ladies Thursday Night Industrial Bowling League.

 

On September 9, 1950 she was united in marriage to Earl A. Cotton.  That union was blessed with 50 years until his passing on September 29, 2000. She was also predeceased by her children, Edward Cotton and Debra Warner; and two grandsons, John Pettengill and Jeremy Cotton; one great, great grandson, Tanner Dillenbeck; and 12 siblings.

 

Survivors include her five children, James Cotton, Elizabeth Pettengill, Robert Cotton, Charmaine Dingman and Susan White; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; her siblings, Roger, Gary and Geraldine; nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11a.m. at

Papa Earl’s Pines Cemetery, Fort Plain, NY.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4 until 7p.m. at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY.
