Obituary of Jo-Ann Gegzno

 

Mrs. Jo-Ann Gegzno, 73, of Amsterdam, passed away Thursday November 11, 2021, at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare with her loving family at her side. 

 

Born in Amsterdam, NY on December 18, 1947, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Spencer Campochiro. 

She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1965 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.  Jo-Ann went on to attend Albany Business School.     Jo-Ann was employed as an executive secretary for the former Mohasco Industries in Amsterdam.

She later worked for a time for Attorney Robert Krzys also in Amsterdam. 

 

 Jo-Ann was always available for a helping hand to all who needed her.  She was very active in the community.

She was a communicant of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, St. Michael the Archangel Church

and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church all in Amsterdam.

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Gegzno whom she  married on September 18, 1971.  

She is also survived by her dear sisters, Marlene (John) Hoffman, Marie Elaina DeRose,

and Denise (Bob) Gentile.  Her dear nieces and nephews, Scott J. (Danielle) Nicol of Long Island, NY, Joseph J. Gentile of Tennessee. and Kristen (Michael) DeLuca of Ft. Johnson, NY.  Cousins also survive.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at the

Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. O Robert DeMartinis presiding. Facial masks are required inside of  the funeral home.   Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam.   Calling hours are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the 

AmericanKidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
