Obituary of Marie Vecchio

     Marie Vecchio, 93, of Fonda, New York, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away January 12, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side.

 She was born on May 19, 1928 in Utica, New York to Anthony and Margaret Pallone.  She was a homemaker who raised a beautiful family.

Marie was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic church, a member of the Christian's Women Society of Mt Carmel, and the Mt. Carmel Seniors.   She enjoyed bowling, and loved playing bocce and going to the casino.   More than anything Marie loved being with her family.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Santo Vecchio on May 17, 1953. They remained lovingly married until his passing in 2015.

Marie is survived by her loving children, daughter, Lisa (Richard) Starin and sons; Larry (Diane) Vecchio, Anthony Vecchio, Mark (Heather) Vecchio, and Jim (Roxanne) Vecchio.  Cherished grandchildren, Melissa (Michael) Judge, Angela (Shaun) Kelly, Maria (William) Van Wie, Laura (Dan) Lourenco, Brianne (Mark Caffery) Vecchio,  Kristina (Benjamin Hovey) Vecchio, Amber Starin, Brian (Katherine Reyanders) Vecchio,  Rachael (Robert Okosky) Vecchio,  Carly Vecchio, Wesley (Marybeth Schults) Adams,  and Kevin (Becky) Adams.  18  great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband Santo, Marie was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Mary, as well as her brother Malone Pallone, sisters; Alvida Messineo, Mary Martin and Angelina Kissinger..

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 20, 2022 at 11:00AM at  Our Lady of Mt Carmel Roman Catholic Church,  39 St John St, Amsterdam, NY  with Father O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant.  Interment will be in Our Lady of  Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam.  Calling hours are private.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
