Obituary of Todd L. Hughes

Mr. Todd L. Hughes, age 70, of Broadalbin, New York, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.

 

He was born on July 5, 1951 in Amsterdam, New York, the son of Lee and Carolyn (Scofield) Hughes. He graduated from Bishop Burke Catholic High School and went to work for General Electric in Schenectady, holding several positions as he worked his way up through the ranks over the years, eventually retiring from a position as a crane operator. He was an avid Union member, proud of his Local #301. Todd loved fishing, watching Yankees baseball, and NY Giants football. He enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, but he was most at peace when he was home with his much beloved family, feeding birds in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Todd is survived by his wife of 50 years: Linda H. (Edick) Hughes; his sons: Christopher (Lynn) Hughes, John A. (Linda) Hughes, and Shawn Hughes; his grandchildren: CJ Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Kayla Hughes, and Andrew Hughes; and his brother: John (Elizabeth) Hughes.

 

He was predeceased by his parents: Lee M. and Carolyn S. (Scofield) Hughes; and his brother: Richard Hughes.

 

Todd's family will be hosting a celebration of life around Todd's birthday in July, details to be announced as the date draws closer.
