Obituary of Dawn Ann Salvatore

Dawn Ann Salvatore, 59, of Amsterdam, NY, went to eternal rest with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital. Dawn was born on July 18, 1962 at United Hospital in Port Chester, NY to the late Frank Salvatore and Joann Straioni.  

She attended Port Chester High School, and graduated with the class of 1980. Dawn spent most of her career as a caregiver for animals, giving local strays the care and affection they needed to be adopted, until she became ill. Dawn found caring for these animals therapeutic, and she always had plenty of love to share with each and every stray she took in. 

Dawn leaves behind her long-time partner and friend, Janet Dunn; her daughters, Michelle (Terry) Burns, and Christina (Titino) Santiago; her four beautiful grandchildren, Shane and Bliss burns, Jayden Jimenez, and Josiah Santiago; her siblings, Mary Salvatore Woods, Frank Salvatore, Michael Gutierrez, Jennifer Salvatore, and Lorraine Ocasio; as well as her step-mother, Julia Gutierrez. 

Services will be held privately, at the convenience of Dawn's family. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Montgomery County SPCA at mc-spca.com/wp/
