Obituary of Helen C. Strathaus

Helen C. Strathaus, of Gloversville, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Nathan Littauer Hospital with family at her side.

She was born June 25, 1929 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late John and Helen Schdig Barthe. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School and was later employed at Decca Records for several years. She went on to be the Guest Service Manager at Johnstown Holiday Inn for 25 years. She loved to travel the world, dining out, dancing and the finer things in life. She and her husband enjoyed many years wintering in Myrtle Beach.

Helen is survived by her sisters, Clara Albanese and Joan Richards; as well as several nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Donald Strathaus and a sister, Charlotte Young.

A Graveside Service will take place 12:30 pm on Sunday, September 18th in Section 109 of Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating.
