Obituary of Dominic S. Viola

Dominic S. Viola, age 97, of Gloversville, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.

He was born June 4, 1925 in Gloversville, the son of the late Ralph and Theresa (Christiano) Viola. He was employed as a Sheridan Press Operator for G. Levor and Co. for 25 years. He also worked at Liberty Leather and Wood & Hyde Corp. as a Slochum Staker. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and the former Gloversville Eagles Aerie.

Dominic is survived by his wife of 74 years, Irene (Myers) Viola, three children, Barbara Hryniak, Ralph and wife Pamela (Fraker) Viola and Sandra Tallon (Richard Praetorius), a sister, Angelina (Viola) Szurek, five grandchildren, Ralph Viola Jr., Peter Hrynaik Jr., Dominic Viola, Christopher Tallon and Patrick Tallon; great-grandchildren, Zachary Tallon, Travis Tallon, Adriana Tallon, Makenna Tallon, Mason Tallon, Blake Viola, Harper Viola,  Leighton Viola and Beckett Viola, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Viola and Theresa (Viola) DiGiacomo; siblings, Ralph Viola, Tony Viola, Lucy (Viola) Testa and Mary (Viola) Renda and son-in-law Peter Hryniak Sr.

The Liturgy of the Word will take place 11:00 am Thursday, October 27th at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville, with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
