Obituary of Marilyn J. Kimball

Marilyn J. Kimball, 91, of Fonda passed away on December 26, 2022. Born on December 23, 1931 to Marion and Earl King of Gloversville NY. She attended Gloversville Schools. She married Leland C. Kimball on March 29, 1951 and they operated Kimball’s Flower Shop in Fonda for many years. Additionally she was employed at Upstate Tel, GTE, and Contel and Truck Stops of America.

Marilyn is survived by her husband; her children, Terry Kimball (Sheila), Linda Petterson-Law (James), and Robin Murray; grandchildren Kylie McPherson, Aaron Kimball, Micah Kimball (Lynne), Daniel Murray (Emily), Kevin Murray, Megan Murray, and Colin McGowan; five great-grandchildren, Avery McPherson, Andrew McPherson, Annabelle Kimball, Baxter Kimball, and Casmir Kimball, a sister, Nancy Taylor and a brother Gary King, and her former daughter-in-law, Gloria Kimball.

She was predeceased by her parents, her grandsons, Scott D. Petterson and Shane McGowan (Erin), and her brother Earl King Jr. 

Over the years, Marilyn was active as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. She was active in the Fonda Reformed Church, Johnstown Christian Women, Glen Mohawk Seniors. Marilyn loved to decorate for the Christmas holidays and always made personalized gingerbread people for her family. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday January 4, 2023, at 2 pm at the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072. Calling hours will take place prior to the funeral services at the funeral home from 1 pm to 2 pm. Burial will follow in the family plot of the Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
