Obituary of Mamika Dasheen Stratton

Mamika "Meeka" Dasheen Stratton, age 42, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023 at her home in Gloversville.


She was born February 10, 1980 in Gloversville, the daughter of Barbara (Robinson) Stratton and the late Ronald Stratton Sr. 


Meeka is survived by her mother, Barbara Jean Stratton; sons Omari Scott (Annisa) and Quedon Scott; twin sister Laisha "La" Stratton (Gerald); Godchildren Amarah Leach, Jalen Leach (Kristianna) and Ky'Rie Stratton; brothers Matthew Chaires (Nicole), Michael Clay (Asha), Marc Clay (Rickie), Tyson Stratton (Corrine), Ronald Stratton Jr, Gary Stratton, Marlon Stratton (Desiree), Steven Stratton and Rahim Stratton; grandchildren Nevaeh Scott, Saige Scott and Giovanni Scott; Godbrother Edward Hill Jr; aunts Sandra Mills (Gary), Connie Richardson (Joe), Rae Robinson, Cheryl, Jean, Karen and Janet Stratton and Uncle Umar. Meeka was blessed with an abundance of nieces and nephews who gave her the title of “Titi”.


She was predeceased by her father, Ronald Stratton Sr; maternal grandparents Harry "Chick" and Catherine Robinson; paternal grandparents John Stratton Sr. and Mayme Chambers; aunts Lisa Truett, Terry McNeal (Carl); uncles John Stratton, Carl McNeal and Morris VanSlyke; cousins Dane VanSlyke, Tina Chaires; nephew Taj Wesley Stratton and long-time best friend Amber Marie Dolder.


A Celebration of Life will take place at the Gloversville Senior Citizens Service Center, 53 Church Street, Gloversville, from 1 to 5pm Sunday, January 15th. Pastor Asha Potts will officiate.


Memorial Contributions may be made in the form of $Amarahhhhh26 via Cashapp for her children.
