Obituary of Patricia S. Snyder

Patricia S. Snyder, 88, passed away January 20, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Born in Fultonville, NY on January 19, 1935 to the parents of Floyd and Beatrice (Goodfellow) Stevens. She was a lifelong resident of Fultonville, and a 1951 graduate of Fultonville High School.

Survived by her loving children Randy (Kim Hart) Snyder, Lori (David) Reffue, Mary Jo (Tom) Nethaway, Ryan G. Snyder, and step-son Richard J. Snyder and family. Her loving grandchildren whom she adored James P. Snyder, Joshua (Taylor) Nethaway, Lukas (Jaclyn) Nethaway, Miranda J. Nethaway, Noa E. Snyder, and step grandchildren Brianna (Denver) Babowicz and Carrie (John) Shea. Great grandchildren Logan, Grayson, and Jackson Nethaway, step great grandchildren Charlotte, Callie, Declan, Rowan, Ternan, and sister in law Ruth Stevens. Also by four nieces Joni Glans, Patty Cassell, Dawn Arminio, Donita Crankshaw, many cousins, a lifelong friend Arlene Macek and family, and also by a special caregiver Stephanie Ferris.

Preceded by her brother Donald W. Stevens, and nephew Donald W. Stevens Jr.

Always by the side of her husband George P. Snyder Sr; who predeceased her on September 21, 2010, Patricia was a driving force of the success of the family business. She started her career at Fultonville Machine & Tool while still in high school that lasted over 6 decades. Her stalwart bookkeeping skills and her unwavering commitment to her family will be remembered for generations to come.

Patricia was a friend to countless many and often an unstoppable force amongst her Mahjong luncheon teams.

She was a lifelong member of the Fonda-Fultonville Methodist Church and supporter of the FFCS system, Braves sports and FF Blockbusters Swim Team supporting the school’s spirit for success. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother (twice) and a silent philanthropist to her community and beyond.

Patricia was the co-pilot to her husband’s traveling adventures that took their family through 48 US States, Canada, and Mexico all while sharing the driving miles in their motorhome. She continued to travel with her children on road trips and cruises, even swimming with the dolphins in Mexico.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072 on Tuesday January 24, 2023 from 10am to 12 noon. A funeral service will take place at the Funeral Home at 12:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Penny Macek. Burial will take place in the springtime in the family plot of the Maple Avenue Cemetery.
