Stanley Morgan, Sr.

Obituary of Stanley P. Morgan, Sr.

Stanley P. Morgan, Sr; age 85, of Mayfield, died February 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family, following a long illness.

He was born October 7, 1937 in Gloversville, the son of the late John and Doris (Floyd) Morgan. He was employed at various leather factories in Gloversville until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing until he became a softie, and then it was catch and release. He was a traditional country music fan and played the bass guitar with his brothers and cousin. Stan was a talented Jack-of-all Trades and was able to repair, cobble or fix just about anything. It may not look pretty, but it would work. A well-known friend and confidante, he was known and loved by many.

Stan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce (Danforth) Morgan; four children, Bonnie Atty, Robin Kinard (Ed Wooster), Stanley Morgan Jr. and Nydeana Morgan; two brothers, William Morgan (Joyce) and Bruce Morgan (Ginger); seven grandchildren, Amber Lopez, Chris Kinard, Andrew Kinard, Jonathan Morgan, Justin Wood, Lacey Kruszewski and Oliver Kruszewski; seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including special cousin and good friend, Charlie Myers.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers John Morgan, James Morgan and Timothy Morgan Sr; and recently by his grandson, Jorden Wood.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd; Gloversville, NY 12078 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
