Obituary of Barbara J. Bramer

     Barbara J. Bramer, 81, of Brandt Place, Amsterdam, died peacefully on Sunday February 26, 2023.

     Born in Fort Johnson, NY on August 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Bessie Snyder Dopp. A lifelong resident of the Town of Florida, she was educated in Amsterdam Schools.

     Barbara was primarily a housewife and intermittently held various part time jobs.  She was a member of the Town of Florida Ladies Auxillary and St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam.

     On June 10, 1961, Barbara was married to the late Hon. Edward L. Bramer, who predeceased her on February 25, 2014.  Barbara is survived by her sons Matthew Bramer and his wife Missy and Mark (Deborah) Bramer.  Grandchildren are Michael Bramer Jr. (Naomie), Rebecca Bramer (Chad), Jacub, Ethan, Brandon, Cody, & Tylur Bramer. Great grandchildren Juliana, Michael III, Richie, Jayce, Leila, Lilly, Cailyn, Edward, & Ariella.  Sisters Gladys Patterson & Marilyn Politano (Frank). Other surviving, Mary Dopp, her father’s widow, sister-in-law Esther Hutchison, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son Michael Bramer his wife Cherie, siblings Doris Newkirk, Geraldine (Albert) Furman, Sylvia (Leonard) Barker, Virginia (Richard) Muselbeck, Donald, Gerald, Lawrence, & Harold Dopp, sister & brother in laws Leland (Betty) Bramer, Gladys Milanovich, Elsie (David) Johnson, Cheryl (John) Wood, Edith (Bill) Cline.

   Graveside Committal Services will be held on Friday May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, NY with the Rev. Dr. John A. Califano presiding.   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Dept, 6252 State Highway 30, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Interment will be in the spring at Maple Ave Cemetery, Fultonville, NY.
