Obituary of Roberto Rosa Pagan

Roberto “Robert” Rosa, 50, of Dover, Delaware (Formerly of Amsterdam) passed away suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2023 in Portland, Indiana as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Robert was born on June 14, 1972 to Robert Rosa and Minerva Ortiz in Manati, Puerto Rico, where he lived until he moved to Holyoke, MA in 1978, at the age of 6, with his mother and step-father, David Ortiz. The family then moved to Amsterdam, NY where he attended Amsterdam Schools, played Babe Ruth baseball, and graduated from Amsterdam High School in 1991. After graduating, Robert moved and eventually settled in Delaware, where he started his passion of working in the restaurant industry. Robert started off as a district manager in Dunkin Donuts. After his time at Dunkin, he became an owner for the franchise, Sbarro in Delaware until COVID. His most recent employment was at The Cozy Puppy Express LLC, where he transported rescue animals to different states.

Robert was a huge sports fan. He mainly watched baseball (his favorite team being the NY Yankees) and football (his favorite team being the Denver Broncos). He loved talking to his family about sports and was competitive, but it was all out of love.

Robert is survived by his step-father David; his siblings: Luz Oquendo, Isabel De Jesus, Barbara Perez, Andre (Amy) Sanchez, Alex (Mayumi) Ortiz and Jose Pagan; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. Robert is predeceased by his mother, Minerva Ortiz.

Robert also leaves behind many friends. The family would like to say thank you to Steve Worthington for being not only his boss, but his close friend.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday June 14, 2023 at 2:00PM at the St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery Chapel, Cemetery Rd.,Amsterdam,  Interment will follow.  Donations in Robert's memory can be made to any animal organization of your choice.
