Obituary of Karen Anne Ford

Karen Anne (Dumar) Ford, entered into eternal peace on June 7,2023 with her loving and cherished family at her side at age 70.

Karen lived her entire life with her beloved husband, Joseph Robert Ford, along with her family and friends in Fonda, NY. She graduated from Fonda Fultonville Central School in 1971 and attended FMCC.

Karen was employed by Wyman’s Drug Store, Dimond Insurance, Kasson & Keller and Montgomery County Co-Operative Extension. Karen then was appointed as Town Clerk for the Town of Mohawk in 1981 and continued as an elected official until her retirement in 2007. Karen was blessed as a successful survivor of two open heart surgeries, having her first operation in 1959 and second operation in 2003.

She was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Fonda, NY. In her lifetime she was a member of the Altar Rosary Sociality and Christian Service. She was also a member of the Fonda Fire Co. Auxiliary.

Karen along with her husband were always at their children’s and later grandchildren’s functions. They didn’t want to miss any of their grandchildren’s firsts. They attended all of their games, dinners, lunches, holiday breakfasts and award ceremonies. They wanted to be present for everything. They had sleepovers with their grandchildren every week and just wanted to spend so much of their time with them. Karen would always, even at age 70, get down on the ground and play games with them, even kickball and baseball. She and her husband enjoyed their pool with their children and grandchildren every summer. They also enjoyed visiting Disney every year and their Maine vacations with their entire family. Karen will be missed by her family. She was so beautiful, young at heart, and she was loved so much by so many!

She is survived by her loving husband Joey and daughters Kelly and Kristy (Steve Jr.) Her cherished grandchildren, Joey, Jilly, Jase, and Kamden. Her siblings, Roy Dumar (Amber), Christine Hand (Wayne) Ray Dumar (Lynn). Nieces and nephews, Jim, John, Chad, Michael, Kyle, Raelyn, Jared, Michelle and Michael.
