Obituary of Antoinette C. Meyer

Antoinette C. "Ann" Meyer, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her residence, The Sanford Home, after a long illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 29, 1929, she was the daughter of Vincenzo "James" and Rosaria Cassetta Zurlo and was a 1947 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She worked for a time at Bigelow Sanford and Grand Union both in Amsterdam. Ann was married to Gilbert J. Meyer on August 7th 1955. They moved to Scotia in 1971 where she worked at First National Bank and later the corporate offices of Pizza Hut. She and her husband moved to Clifton Park in 2001 where they were communicants of the Church of St. Edward The Confessor. Gilbert predeceased her on April 4, 2016. She was currently a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church and was a former member of Mt. Carmel Seniors and the General Electric Athletic Association. Ann was known for her wonderful cooking and baking which she lovingly shared with family and friends. She leaves her loving son Robert G. (Vincent J. Rossi) Meyer, cherished grandson Luca Marc Rossi-Meyer all of Clifton Park; her dear sister Louise "Jean" Zeno of Oswego, NY; her dear brother Sam and his wife Harriet Zurlo of Tribes Hill, NY; brother Rudy (Ollie Auty) Zurlo of Clifton Park, NY; sister-in-law Claris Joyner of Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was predeceased by her sisters, Marietta Juliano, Josephine Juliano and Caroline Zurlo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 50 Cornell Street, Amsterdam by the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis and Deacon Michael Ryba. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday evening from 4 until 6p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorials are made to St. Stanislaus Church. Ann's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Sarah Jane Sanford Home for their kindness, care and compassion during her final months, and also to Fr.
