Mr. David K. Frascatore, Sr., 79, of Broadalbin, passed away Monday morning, March 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on August 29, 1938 in Amsterdam, the son of the late Leo and Marion (Denton) Frascatore. David was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School after he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
David was employed for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator by the NYS Thruway Authority and was stationed out of Amsterdam. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in various NY State Parks with his family. He also was an avid bowler and golfer in his younger years. His true passion was his family especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam.
Dave was married on October 22, 1960 to the former Susan Haverly who passed away on July 10,2005. He was also predeceased by his brother Clement Frascatore.
Survivors include his two sons, David (Bonnie) Frascatore Jr. of Kissimee, Florida and Gregg (Deborah) Frascatore of Broadalbin, NY. Two sisters, Marion Frascatore of Amsterdam and Flavia Bush of Amsterdam; five grandchildren, Nathan, Jayson, Taylor, Julianna and Leah; step- grandson, Shawn Collins; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Dr. John Califano presiding. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Steadwell Ave, Amsterdam. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home on Friday. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Following the services all are invited to the home of Matthew Wakefield, Dave's neighbor, at 692 County Highway 138, Broadalbin, NY 12025 to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
