Obituary of Robert W. Rhinehart

Robert W. Rhinehart, 74, of Trackside Homes, Johnstown, formerly of Gloversville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Albany Medical Center with his wife and family at his side. Born and educated in Gloversville, Robert was the son of Eleanor Rhinehart and Richard Bohowicz, both now deceased. He was a 1961 graduate of Gloversville High School and served his country proudly in the Navy from 1962 until 1966. Bob and his mother Eleanor operated the Magic Lantern Bar and Grill on W. Fulton Street in Gloversville for over 25 years. He was later retired from N.A. Taylor in Gloversville. He was a dedicated friend and pet-lover who loved his wives and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Marilyn Manzer Rhinehart, and her family. He is survived by his wife, Linda Hollis Rhinehart, whom he married April 11, 2015 by Rev. Jerry Oliver and Rev. Donald Czelusniak of Holy Trinity Church. Robert is also survived by his sister-in-law, Roseanne Hollis Courter and Kevin Courter of Colonie, and their family Kevin and Ilenia Barrett of Huntington, Long Island. He is also survived by his three children, Robert of Perth and Daniel and Michele of Gloversville, as well as very special family of the late wife Marilyn, Paul and Betty Lou Eddy of Averill Park and their children Philip, Sarah and David Harris and Alicia Eddy and their children. He was an avid Jet fan as well as Golden State Warriors supporter. Bob was a pillar of the community and could be seen having breakfast daily at local restaurants and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed Sunday dinners at CP's in Hagaman and the Edinburg Diner. He was a member of the Nick Stoner Senior Club in Caroga Lake as well as a member of the Gloversville Lions Club. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Church, 205 Glebe St; Johnstown. The Rev. Chris Welch will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Nick Stoner Senior Citizens Club, P.O. Box 11, Caroga Lake, NY 12032.
