Obituary of Felix C. Johnson

Felix C. "Chuck" Johnson Jr., age 71, of Gloversville passed away unexpectedly on Sunday May 27, 2012 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He was born in Gloversville, NY on April 16, 1941 the son of the late Felix C. Sr. and Bertha Cosselman Johnson. On October 29, 1966, Felix married the former Catherine J. D'Errico. They have shared 45 years united in marriage. Felix retired from the leather industry. He was also proud to be a landlord. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed family gatherings and family picnics. His pride and joy was his kids and grandchildren. Felix was always helping others. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Catherine J. Johnson of Gloversville, four children: Valerie L. Cappuccio Guy of Amsterdam, Felix C. Johnson III Autum of MacClenny, FL., Bradley S. Johnson Debbie of Rotterdam, NY, Thomas E. Johnson Christy of Gloversville, 7 grandchildren: Eric, Kaylee, Chloé, Lily, Harper, Davis, Emmeryn and four sisters: Della Baker, Betty Johnson, Grace Joyce and Rose Johnson. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-laws, In addition to his parents, Felix was preceded in death by 7 siblings: Roland, Earl, Wellington, Judy, Eva, Beatrice and Mildred. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 30, 2012 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday May 31, 2012 with Joyce Royal-Paul officiating. Interment will follow at FernDale Cemetery in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Felix to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
