Obituary of Rosalie M. Morrone

Rosalie M. Iannotti Morrone, 92, of Morrone Road, Broadalbin, passed away peacefully Saturday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on June 4, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Sisto and Agnes DiCaprio Iannotti. Educated locally, she lived here most of her life. Rosalie was employed by Chalmer?s Button Factory for a time. She also assisted her husband Tony in the operation of the former Morrone?s Greenhouse on Guilderland Avenue and later the former Sam & Tony?s Greenhouse in Perth. Rosalie loved being out doors and enjoyed her garden at her home. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. Her beloved husband Anthony Morrone predeceased her. Her loving family includes her son, Floyd Morrone and his wife Barbara of Broadalbin; grandchildren, Toni Ann Scott, James Morrone and Pennie Gomula; great grandchildren, Amber and Mark Scott and Megan and Marissa Gomula; brothers, Vincent Iannotti, Gerald Iannotti, and the Rev. Pascal A. Iannotti all of Amsterdam; her sisters, Louise Carnevale of Schenectady, Mary Verderese, Marion Iannotti and Sylvia Verderese and her husband Nicholas, all of Amsterdam; many nieces, nephews and cousins Rosalie was also predeceased by three brothers, Ralph Iannotti and his wife Mary, Carl Iannotti and Floyd Iannotti and a sister Rose Iannotti. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial which will be con celebrated at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Rosalie?s brother, Fr. Pascal Iannotti will be the main celebrant. Interment is in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Rosalie?s memory to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
