Obituary of Emmett B. Van Arnam

Mr. Emmett B. Van Arnam, age 82, of Gloversville, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. He was born September 11, 1923 in Gloversville, the son of the late Fred and Marion Bailey Van Arnam. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater, including Normandy. He was employed as an architectural draftsman by the State of New York in Albany for many years until his retirement. Emmett was a member of the Moose Lodge, Concordia Club, American Legion and VFW in Gloversville, and the Moose Lodge in Johnstown. Playing golf was his passion for many years. He is survived by his brother, Fred ?Bud? Van Arnam of Albany. There will be no calling hours or services. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Arrangements are by Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd; Albany, NY 12205.
